Story

Sepsis is the bodies immune system overreacting to fighting an infection or injury. Our immune system normally fights infection but sometime it attacks the bodies organs and tissues. If not caught early it can often be fatal.

I am doing a 15000ft sky dive to raise money for The UK Sepsis Trust. Their mission is raise awareness of Sepsis in the public domain, offer support to Sepsis survivors who can be left with both physical and mental injuries. Link to their website below.

Please sponsor me whatever you can and as the jump isn't until February I am hoping some people may offer more than one donation.

It is a truly worthy cause and one that I know will be supported well by some of my friends who, along with myself, have had some incredible people taken from us as a result of this horrible illness.

I am booked to do the jump around the 1 year anniversary of the all too early death from Sepsis of a former RAF colleague and all round nice guy Gaz Roberts. We wasn't the closest of friends but he was the sort of guy who just made an instant impact on people and always lit up the room with the amazing smile that never left his face.

I am also jumping for a woman who was a second mother to me and my brother for the early years of our lives. Carol Jones was a role model to many and went through so much but unfortunately she was also taken by Sepsis.

Sepsis accounts for 48,000 deaths annually in the UK, that’s more than breast, bowel and prostate cancer put together. Sepsis is what happens when our immune system overreacts to an infection. Symptoms initially present as flu like but can rapidly deteriorate into a life threatening condition.
