Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Please read the story belowand consider supporting me and women like Morsheda.

Picture a young mother of four. Her husband has left. She has no land. No assets. No savings. And the only work she can get is backbreaking manual labour for as little as 74p a day. Her home has been flooded several times, and last August it flooded again. This is Morsheda. She’s our neighbour, A Home Safety Package from Christian Aid could raise Morsheda’s home on an earth plinth, safe from the flood plain, and allow her to invest in things like farm animals, seeds and a composting kit to provide her family with food – giving her what she needs to build a better future.

By participating in this year’s Christian Aid’s fundraising you can give hope to Morsheda, her Family and Community.

We in Chippenham can identify with Morsheda’s flooding plight, not only by television pictures we see of devastation from recent flooding in many parts of the UK; but also from recent pictures in the Gazette & Herald of flooding on Maud Heaths causeway. At least we were able to drive to the supermarket within a day or so, and not be afraid of what swims in the water.
