Story
One week after the marathon is my 60th birthday, having never been a runner I thought the marathon would provide a suitable challenge to rail against old age!
But most of all Im running to raise money for the wonderful charity Missing People who support the families living through the horrendous trauma of not knowing where their loved ones are.
Its a charity that is both emotionally and physically close to my heart as they supported and continue to support our friend and neighbour Bek (and her son Noah) whose son Finn, aged just 17, went missing near the YHA in Tintagel on Saturday July 8 2017, nearly 7 years ago.
The charity was originally set up by two sisters, Mary Asprey (OBE) and Janet Newman (OBE) who were friends of the family of missing estate agent Suzy Lamplugh who disppeared whilst showing a flat in Fulham to a "Mr Kipper" in 1986 and I remember vividly being shocked at the news when this happened.
The training has been challenging and I have been injured for most of it, fingers crossed for the big day!
Thank you for reading and thank you even more for donating to Missing People, your donation helps provide a lifeline to vulnerable people affected by disappearance and who have nowhere else to turn.
