Story
I started running earlier this year to try and get my diabetes under control and so far is working wonderfully.
I decided to try and push myself to train harder and stupidly entered a half marathon. I also thought that if I run it for a charity it would give me even more motivation. I chose to run for make a wish because they make seriously ill children feel great and take them out of their usual day to day routine of hospital and medication and make them feel so special.
For us they gave Charlie a fantastic day chauffeuring her around in a limo to get her hair done and to meet her idols Girls Aloud. For Charlie this day was priceless and she felt like a princess for the day. Unfortunately as most of you will know Charlie sadly passed away but as a family we will always be extremely grateful for the wonderful memories that we will cherish forever of the day make a wish made her dreams come true.
These guys do fantastic work and if we could raise enough money to just help 1 seriously ill child's dreams come true for a day then that would be amazing and would make all the pain of this training worth it.
Make-A-Wish UK grant magical wishes to enrich the lives of children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions. Granting their wish provides seriously ill children with hope for the future, strength to cope and resilience to fight their condition. They’re given quality time away from the daily realities of living with their condition and given the chance to make magical memories they can treasure forever – whatever their future may hold. We want to transform the lives of 1,000 children this year by granting their One True Wish!
