Those of you that know me will know how much I loathe running, so the thought of running over 13 miles terrifies me.......but that is nothing compared to the terror people feel when they get the diagnosis we all dread.

1 in 2 men will suffer cancer in their lifetime with a scary 200,000 being diagnosed each year.

Unfortunately through a combination of stubbornness, pride or stupidity too many leave it too late with the "it'll fix itself mentality".

Cancer has provided me with some of the hardest moments in my life with my father in law as well as my good friend Colin having to take it on for the third time, so let's do all we can to put an end to this horrible disease.

Balls to Cancer as an organisation help raise awareness in men's cancer by encouraging people not to think it'll be ok, but to check & catch it early.
