Story
As you may or not know, I work for John Griffiths MS. At the start of the year John met with five-year-old Elliot and his mum Lucy. Elliot suffers from a condition called Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) - a cruel muscle-wasting disease.
Following their meeting we invited them to the Senedd, which was where I met Elliot and his mum for the first time. When Lucy and John were chatting about how to support the family, I was sitting in the play area in the Oriel with Elliot. It was there I decided I wanted to do something to help because I thought this condition just wasn't fair.
Before Christmas, I decided to sign up for the New York Half Marathon. I am an experienced runner and have been wanting to do a special run for a while, which is why I decided to book NYC. After meeting Elliot, I thought it would be a nice idea to combine the two.
The money raised will go to Duchenne UK, which is the leading DMD charity in the UK: connecting the best researchers with industry, the NHS and families to advance and accelerate every stage of drug development.
If you are able to support, it would be much appreciated by myself and Elliot's family.
