Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In just under a month I will be tackling my first ever 1/2 marathon in London and I am doing the run in memory of two amazing people, Joanne Monaghan and Scott Simpson. Both were taken from us far too young and had so much more to give. I know I am not the only one who misses them dearly and I hope that I can do them both proud on the 28th of October 2012.

Joanne or Jan as she was affectionately known to those that knew her and was a devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter, cousin and friend to us all. Jan was an avid runner herself completing a number distances and raising a lot of money for some amazing causes. Jan sadly lost her fight against Lymphoma in August 2011 and her loss hit a lot of people including myself.

Scott or Simmy to most was my closest cousin; he was practically my brother as we grew up together. Although Scott left us in controversial circumstances in February 2012 he will always be remembered for the joy he brought to everyone he knew. I have never been so moved than the day so many people turned out to celebrate Scott’s life. I have never met someone who had a bad thing to say about Scott and that is testament to the person he was.

So I ask for your support towards Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research UK in memory of Jan and Scott. I hope with your support we can raise some money for this great cause so they can continue to make a difference.

Thank you.

Andy
