Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page! Now that I’ve got your attention…

This is the 4th time that I have signed up for the Great North Run. Having successfully got through the selection ballot, I am now turning my attention to fundraising. This year I am hoping to raise as much money as possible for Cancer Research UK. 

Over recent months we have reflected on many important things in our live and have taken time to think about those who are no longer with us, in particular a member of our family (my sister in-law) who we lost at the age of 44 due as a result of Bowel & Liver Cancer. In our case we had less than 3 months between diagnosis to the end; however, we managed to have a last family Christmas together and are thankful for that at least.  During a very difficult 3 months we had a lot of difficult situations to face and eventually had to accept an inevitable outcome.... this doesn't need to be the same for everyone; essential research and support can help to change the outcomes for many many people affected by Cancer. 

Putting on my running shoes and taking part in the Great North Run on Sunday 13th September is part of my effort to help where I can, and your support is fully appreciated.
