As no one seems to think that climbing 4 volcanoes is enough, I've decided to add one more to the challenge; Chimborazo which stands at a whopping 6,310 metres is Equadors highest and largest mountain and is the furthest point from the centre of the Earth due to the equatorial bulge.
My challenge begins by tackling Pasochoa, El Corazon and Liniza volcanoes followed by the world's highest active volcano, Mt Cotopaxi which stands at 5,897m and finally Chimborazo.
Due to the extra training and having to attend Glacier school the date has been put back to 5th February 2009. So far I've raised nearly £1,200 but am hoping to raise a lot more for the kids! I'd really like to thank all those who have sponsored me already and diss all those who haven't! I'll be having no credit crunch excuses either!
The charity I've chosen this time is the NSPCC who have a vision of building a society where all children are loved, and where no child is forced to endure pain and misery of abuse, or a day when they no longer die at the hands of parents or carers. Your support will help the NSPCC to raise much needed funds to continue the invaluable work they're doing to protect our most vulnerable children and make this vision a reality.
Part of the funds I raise will go to Salinas de Guaranda in Gamalote community which helps student groups work together with the local community to build an infant school in the area.
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: NSPCC will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
