Story
Hi again everyone,
Hooray, I did it!! I finished the course in 2:21:30 (for those of you who like precision...), which I'm really pleased with - bang on my (secret)target time. And I didn't walk at all, not even up Marlborough Road - phew what a struggle - which was my main target. Remarkably I managed to enjoy almost all of the route (apart from the dastardly return trip up Marlborough Road..). All the support along the route was fantastic, and really made a difference, so thanks to everyone I know (or didn't know) who clapped me along the way.
And a fantastic amount of money raised for MacMillan thanks to your kind generosity.
Thank you!
Andreax
Thank you!!

Hi Everyone,
Well, I've finally committed - not just signed up, but here I am publicising to the world that I'm going to run the Swindon Half Marathon (13.1 miles for the uninitiated...) on 9th October 2011. Training is a bit ropey (how do those people do it, sauntering by whilst I sweat and stagger?), but I'm determined, and that's half the battle.
I want to raise money for MacMillan cancer support, as they do such a good job helping people with cancer and their families. Making life less awful, and sometimes positively cheery, in situations where normal people like you and I might have no idea where to start.
Both my parents died of cancer. A MacMillan nurse made my Mum's day during a brief visit - I'd like to help bring that happiness to someone else who needs a hand. So I will not only do the running (jogging, staggering?) on Sunday 9th, I'll be making a donation too.
And here's the practical bit:
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Many thanks if you are able to make a donation. if not, then maybe consider MacMillan as a charity of your choice inthe future - they do a great job.
