Story

This year HHS are organising an in-school competition for children in Reception Year and the Upper School. On World Book Day they will be asked to design, in class, an original book cover on a theme to be given to them on that day. Children in Pre-Reception and Early Years will be celebrating World Book Day in their classes by reading and talking about a variety of stories from around the world and as we are very much an ‘international/multicultural’ school, children will be encouraged to bring in their favourite books from other countries. In keeping with previous years, we shall be raising money for our local community library — the Keats Community Library - which depends entirely on local volunteers and charitable funding and which the children in the Upper School visit regularly and benefit from.

Thank you for your help and support.

About the charity

We have been running a community library for the local community & its visitors since April 2012. We open 42 hours weekly offering 20,000 books to all ages in a heritage building. We are dependant on the community for funding and volunteers as we receive no state or council support
