Story

Every day of the year St Wilfrid's Hospice helps a patient get expert medical and emotional care through a terminal illness. Here are just some quotes from family members sent to us recently: "My dad spent the last six weeks of his life at St Wilfrids. From the minute he arrived until he sadly died the amazing staff couldn't do enough for him. He loved being in the gardens and spent most of his time sat out, joking that he had his own outside doctors clinic as most of his checks etcetera were done in the garden. I cant thank the staff enough for everything they did. You are all wonderful!" "Among others is my mother, Gwen, who did spend a considerable time under the care of the hospice. As soon as she entered the building, she visibly relaxed. One Christmas there was a carol service. Mum was in a bed with an electric pressure mattress. We had to keep plugging it in to keep it inflated and for her to go to the service. She was laughing the whole way round, it was hilarious."
