INTERNATIONAL SUNFLOWER GROWING OLYMPICS

(minimum donation of £5 to take part per sunflower entry)

The Aim: To grow the tallest Sunflower

The Challenge: To get as many people with as many nationalities from as many countries to take part.

The Rules:

1. Minimum £5 donation per entry to be made through Just Giving: www.justgiving.com/Andrea-Stanley-Sunflower

2. Suggested species of Sunflower is the "Russian Giant" (Helianthus  giganteus) - max height 3m/10ft 

3. Entries must include name, nationality, country, species of sunflower, and whether growing from seed or seedling and date of start of planting/measuring.

4. Sunflowers must be measured on a weekly basis and measurements submitted on the official Facebook page.

5. Sunflowers grown from seed, first measurements are to be taken once seed has germinated (7-14 days) and it should take a further 8 weeks till it reaches full height and blooms. (so total 8 measurements, 10 weeks in total)

6. Sunflowers entered as seedlings, you will have approximately 8 weeks till the flowers reach full height and blooms (so 8 measurements in 8 weeks)

7. Results to be announced once all entrants have submitted final measurements - Gold, Silver, Bronze awards per country!

8. Final entry date will be Saturday March 23rd. Final results will be announced sometime at the beginning of June.
