Sadly, dementia has been a part of my life since I was a child. My granddad passed away from it at only 69 years old. As a child, seeing my granddad gradually decline and showing more and more severe symptoms of dementia has been heartbreaking. 

In my late teens and twenties, I have seen my loving grandmother going through the same journey of the disease. I did not fully realise until now how difficult it must have been for my mum to support my grandma, while holding a full-time job and caring for her own family. My grandma was 81 years old when she sadly passed away. 

Few years ago, my beloved mom has started showing symptoms of the same early onset dementia my granddad was suffering from. She is 69 years old. 

I am doing this challenge to raise awareness and support for Alzheimer's Society. Sadly, I know very well the effect this disease has on the patient and immediate family members.
