Young Epilepsy is an amazing organisation which I really want to support. By walking 40 miles in August, I will be helping to improve research, treatment and incredible practical support for children and young people, and their families, living with epilepsy. Each week, 40 children are diagnosed with epilepsy.
Our daughter, Hannah, was diagnosed with epilepsy last summer when she was nearly 13. It was the most frightening and truly awful experience and she was in hospital for a while with repeated seizures until her diagnosis. She has thankfully been stable thanks to her medication but it is a constant fear that she will have another seizure and it has been a very traumatic experience for the whole family.
Hannah is lucky as her medication keeps her stable but many young people have continual seizures and it impacts their ability to live normal lives.
Walking 40 miles isn’t a big achievement as it’s easy to do with a bonkers dog and I’m hoping to do much more than this but it’s just something to help support Young Epilepsy. We would be so grateful for your donation, however small. Thank you so much x
