Walking 11,000 steps a day for the month of September to help stop prostate cancer being a killer.

Story

Year 3 for me! Each year, more than 11,000 men die of prostate cancer - that's one man dying every 45 minutes. And there are over 400,000 men living with and after the disease in the UK today.

I lost my Dad to this disease in December 2016, the journey for him and us as a family was a hard one, and we miss him every single day. Most days as a practice nurse I meet men and their families who are also on this journey. Its a journey that needs the support that Prostate Cancer UK can provide, and through their research and consequential advances in treatments, a disease that one day will hopefully be beaten.

This month I will be walking (at least) 11,000 steps per day that represents the 11,000 men that die every year from Prostate Cancer. By doing this I hope to raise much needed funds for Prostate Cancer UK in memory of my Dad. I also hope that I will raise awareness of this disease, that may now or in the future help keep the men we love safely in our lives.

Any donation to help me achieve this challenge will be very gratefully received. Thank you in advance.....Andrea xx
