Tour du Lac · 14 June 2021

Help us to restore damaged peatland rainforest, vital habitat for the world's largest remaining protected population of Bornean orangutans.

Story

As a kid I used to cycle everywhere. As I grew older, life got busier and time got shorter, other modes of transport became more convenient.

In recent years I started to get back onto biking, cycling with family and cycling to work when the weather permitted. Over the past year I have even started to cycle to work in less favourable weather conditions with the goal of cycling no matter what the conditions and doing more to protect the environment.

In my plight to increase my cycling fitness and endurance, I plan to embark on a personal Tour du Lac of Lake Geneva, cycling 163km and crossing 2 country borders in 1 day.

As cycling has the benefit that it is sustainable and good for the environment, I would like the environment to benefit from my Tour du Lac as much as possible. I will therefore be raising money to go toward the Borneo Nature Foundation International, a foundation that helps preserve the rain forest in Borneo and protects one of the largest orangutan habitats in the world.

I would be very happy if you would like to sponsor me on my bike ride and help protect the rain forest and the nature within it.

Thank you in advance for your kindness.
