Story
When cancer suddenly and unexpectedly took my mother-in-law, the feeling of shock and sadness created a desire to help fight this killer disease. The way I have chosen to do this is to set about raising money for Cancer Research . In 2003 I had climbedMount Kilimanjarofor my own satisfaction. It was a tough challenge and I have therefore decided to repeat it, but this time with the aim of raising money for charity.
Each year around 20,000 people attempt the climb: 60% succeed whilst 40% don’t and turn back. Success is not just a matter of fitness, for Kilimanjaro has defeated many young and fit people, whilst folk in their sixties and seventies have succeeded. What really counts is the climber’s state of mind and how well their body adapts to the conditions.
I have had tremendous support from my patients at the Cheshunt Dental Practice, who have already pledged over £5000; my target is to raise £10,000. I will be paying all my expenses myself, so every penny of your donation will go to Cancer Research . Please dig deep and donate generously to this worthy cause.
