By donating to TRT you'll be supporting our work in the different areas of the Tuolumne River. During this Covid-19 pandemic, I alongside my coworker, Edgar, are working to continue engagement with Modesto community residents and youth in our programs through virtual platforms every week.
Here is an overview of the work the Tuolumne River Trust is working on:
1. Sonora:
- Forest Restoration
- Tuolumne River Watershed Education
- Accomplishments: restored over 400 acres of forests and planted more than 5,000 trees; restored native seeds for future restoration.
Modesto
- Community Outreach efforts in riverside communities
- Civic Engagement
- Youth programs (Tuolumne River Adventure Club, Activ8, Airport Bicycle Club ) that offer various recreational activities by the river i.e. swimming, biking, paddling, fishing, hiking, etc
- Family-oriented events at the park
- Restoration at Dos Rios
- Water Monitoring
- Our environmental science education in schools "Trekking the Tuolumne"
- Tuolumne River Clean-ups
- Accomplishments: Over 1,500 volunteers took part in restoration and river clean-up events; offered more than 50 outdoor recreation opportunities to resilient youth and families; engaged more than 1,000 students in the classroom and outdoor trips.
3. San Francisco
- Policy and Advocacy for the Tuolumne River
- Accomplishments: submitted 130 pages of science-based comments to public agencies and educated the community about current water policy issues.
