Story
Our beautiful older son, Rory, was treated at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children during his battle with cancer before passing away in their PICU in January 2020. The Grand Appeal funded so much of what made our experience in BRHC bearable. They fund everything from the technology that makes paediatric brain surgery safer, to the comfort of the parents' kitchens, to the play and music therapists who aid recovery, to the bereavement support that enabled us to make final memories with Rory on the day he died. By supporting The Grand Appeal, you're supporting children like Rory fighting the worst battles, and families like us, facing the hardest weeks, months and years of their lives.
On Sunday 3rd October, I'm running *HALF* of the Virtual London Marathon in memory of my boy and to help other sick children and babies. I was gutted to come to the decision last month that due to various reasons, the whole marathon would not be possible, BUT my amazing godmother Jo has very kindly volunteered to run the other half for me! So *technically* we're doing the whole thing! The Grand Appeal is an incredible cause and anything you can give at all will be hugely appreciated. If you can't give money right now, no problem - I'm very up for help with a few fundraising ideas and/or some running/cycling/cheering me on once the day arrives! Thank you Team Rory!!
