Story

I did it!!!!!!

23 Miles Completed!

Last mile 'smashed' in under 50 mins!

Incredible support from Duncan Goodhew, ITV News, Western Daily Press, Wilts Gazette Herald, Star FM, BBC Radio Wiltshire and my wonderful family. It was a fantastic day! Wow!!!

About my Challenge:

My name is Amy Pointer and I am 10 years old. My big brother is in the Army and may soon have to go and help the people of Afghanistan.

He told me about a charity that carry out amazing work to help our brave soldiers who have been hurt whilst carrying out their duties.
The Charity is called 'Help for Heroes'.

Next summer, my Dad and some of his friends are going to swim across the Solent to the Isle of Wight to raise money for Help for Heroes. I am too young to take part in that, but I have been helping Dad with his training and like to swim with him even if sometimes it his hard to get up so early to go to the pool before I go to school.

I have decided to take a swimming challenge myself. It will take me several weeks, as I will be attempting to swim 1455 lengths of Malmesbury pool. This is 23 miles. The length of Loch Ness in Scotland!! You can follow my progress here.

I am attempting to raise £500 for Help For Heroes and I hope that you will be willing to help me by donating any amount that you can manage.

Every penny counts!

Please help me help our heroes!!

All my love,

Amy xxx
