Story

In just over 2 weeks time, I will be running the London Half Marathon. The closest I've come to running across a significant distance was my 21st birthday Otley Run. And an Otley Run, is a Leeds University bar crawl...Please sponsor me to not only run this marathon, but train for it too, and buy some trainers to train and run in. I have yet to do any of this! Basically, its a race for survival at the moment!I am raising money for 2 charities that are very close to my heart.

By sponsoring me here you will be donating to 'Future Dreams', a charity supporting Breakthrough Breast Cancer's pioneering research into Breast Cancer treatment. 'Future Dreams' was founded by Sylvie Henry and Danielle Leslie, who set up the charity to help defeat this disease, which they both suffered from. A few years later and within a year of each other, they both died from secondary cancer.

What I have failed to mention is that Sylvie and Danielle were mother and daughter, and both incredibly talented dancers. I was lucky enough to have been taught how to dance by both of them.

For those of you who know me well, will know that I am a passionate dancer and I would not have had such a love for dance, such passion, or desire to continue it even when I'm nearly 23 and about 10 times heavier than the average ballet dancer - without these two amazing women.

It seems suitably apt then, that I shall be running this marathon - which incorporates music and exercise... and coordination - in memory of my former inspirational dance teachers.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Thank you

Amy :)
