Story
Percy Hedley has helped my brother Jack for over 14 years as they offer care, support and education to children living with cerebral palsy across the North East.
Without the charity, my family's life would be very different, as they have offered Jack the routine and education every child deserves. It can be difficult for a child to integrate into society when they know they are different but Percy Hedley works to make everyone feel welcome and a part of a community. They take the children on day trips and help them develop new skills as well as their motor and sensory skills. They also promote family and child activities, allowing parents to partake in some school activities to aid bonding, especially in young children.
This charity is held close to my family's heart and requires funding to carry on transforming the lives of children living with cerebral palsy. So far, money fundraised has allowed them to open two schools, a college and respite centres. As well as employment aids to help those after school is completed.
