Story

Amy was the very heart of our family, a beloved daughter and sister. Very cheeky, funny, strong-willed and kind. She showed care and love to us and her close friendship group. She was just 12 and a half when she died. We love her and miss her.

Amy died without warning in her sleep of Sudden Arrhythmic Death on the 5th Dec 2020.  She had no prior symptoms or signs of arrhythmia, we have come to learn that this is quite common. Arrhythmia relates to the electrical current which stimulate the heart. She had a normal day and we expected many more normal days with her.

There is an estimated 12 cardiac deaths in the young per week in the U.K. The charity Cardiac Risk for the Young (CRY) support families through bereavement with peer support. They offer their medical expertise to coroners to help confirm causes of death. CRY also offer medical help to the families left behind to see if any of the issues are inherited. This charity has been very helpful to us as a family after Amy's death and we would like to support CRY to further their research and to be able to test more young people for cardiac issues.

Please do make a donation in Amy's name. Thank you all for your support over the last few months.
