Story
Hello everyone! I must be crazy but on Saturday 6th October I will be braving The Big Jump in aid of Beat, the UK's eating disorders charity. I will take on the ultimate fear facing challenge and leap from an aeroplane at 10,000ft, alongside brave fundraisers all over the UK.Why am I fundraising for Beat? Eating disorders are serious mental illnesses affecting 1.25 million people across the UK. Unfortunately on average, sufferers face an average wait of three and a half years for specialist treatment! Anorexia has a higher mortality rate than any other mental illness.Beat exists to end the pain and suffering caused by eating disorders. They offer free services 365 days a year, and aim to support 40,000 people this year.
Having suffered with Anorexia for five years and gone through various treatment for the illness I know how important it is to get the right support and for help to be available as soon as possible. It is an isolating illness that causes so much pain for not only the sufferer but for all the friends and family around them too. Beat offers support for both sufferers and carers and also campaign tirelessly for better services all over the UK. Please help me raise money for such a worthy cause. Many of you will have seen the years of anguish I went through with this illness, now I finally have my health and my life back I want to do all I can to raise awareness and help others to also gain their lives back from such a tough mental illness.
