Story
We are undertaking this challenge to support the Hospice that means so much to us;
Sophia's thoughts...."I am doing the half marathon because St Michael's supported me & my Mum brilliantly when she was terminally ill. The holistic approach they provided to both treatment and support was extremely helpful. I think it's a great charity and am very grateful for all the support. If you can donate to help us we would really appreciate it."
Amy's thoughts..."St Michael's truly is a special place that I feel very privileged to work in so taking on this challenge is a pleasure, well maybe not quite! In all seriousness, I know the difference support from St Michael's has made to my family and friends, of all ages, so please support us and help make sure we can continue to be there for those that need us most."
At St Michael's Hospice our multi-disciplinary team includes doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, complementary therapists, social workers, chaplains and counsellors. Specialist Hospice staff work together and often in partnership with the NHS to relieve patients symptoms, control their pain and help them to live well until the end of life. We are also there to ensure loved ones have access to the appropriate care and support they need to cope with the complex feelings and lifestyle changes caused by a terminal illness.
