Climbing Everest at home!, 17 April 2020
The spread of coronavirus could be deadly for families in countries where healthcare systems are already weak, and long-lasting food supplies have been wiped out by disaster or conflict.

Story

Our mum chairs the Board of CARE and we hear a lot about it. Whilst we are clapping and supporting our local NHS heroes and carers, we also know that the impact of coronavirus on people around the world, where healthcare systems are already weak, will be even worse. We can isolate at home with our family. We can buy food and we can still attend school from home.

In countries where children and their families already are unable to do this the impact of the virus is unthinkable.

CARE is already delivering lifesaving aid in places where healthcare systems are already weak, and where disaster and conflict have wiped out long-term food supplies. Your donation to CARE's Coronavirus appeal today could help provide hygiene kits, clean water and emergency supplies to the most vulnerable families.

We have decided to try to climb Everest. We have measured our stairs at home and this means climbing our stairs (over two levels) 1,580 times. We think this will also help us to get our exercise without leaving home!

Help me help others fight this virus the best they can. #CAREFightsCoronaviruswww.careinternational.org.uk/emergencies/covid-19-emergency
