Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In October 2010, Mum discovered she had breast cancer. Just like that her life turned upside down. By Christmas 2011, after a gruelling treatment process involving hospital stays, operations, chemotherapy and radiotherapy (which she never complained about, not once) we heard the words 'you're in remission'. As a daughter I truly believed that this was it, my Mum had beaten it.
But sadly, this wasn't the case and in April 2012 Mum was diagnosed with secondary tumours in her brain that were incurable.
However, this didn't stop her from carrying on her work as a teacher whilst she was undergoing treatment to delay the spread of the tumours and it was only when she could no longer continue that we knew her illness was getting the better of her.
Mum passed away on Friday 6th September, less than a month after her 50th birthday.
