Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In the early hours of 16th March we received the heartbreaking news that our wonderful mum and mema, Ann, had died following a short but brave battle with sepsis.

In the days that have followed we have received a huge number of cards, letters, messages and phone calls from family and friends to express their sympathy and to share fond memories of a lady who gave so much and had a lasting impact on so many people’s lives.

Unfortunately, over the last few days we have also learned that in the UK alone 5 people die every hour from sepsis.

Therefore, as a family we are welcoming donations to the Sepsis Trust to support their research and raise awareness of this indiscriminate killer.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Sepsis accounts for 48,000 deaths annually in the UK, that’s more than breast, bowel and prostate cancer put together. Sepsis is what happens when our immune system overreacts to an infection. Symptoms initially present as flu like but can rapidly deteriorate into a life threatening condition.
