Thank you for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page. You can find more information about The Big Walk 2018 at

I am taking part in The Big Walk 2018, a walking challenge on 22nd June. It is a 26.2 mile Peak District walk starting in Lodge Moor on the edge of Sheffield, heading out to the Peak District and ending on the University campus.
We are raising funds towards the University's £2 million fundraising campaign for the Sheffield Scanner- a ground-breaking MRI-PET scanner facility, and the first of it's kind in Yorkshire. The Sheffield Scanner will represent the next lead forward in medical and imaging research and have a crucial role for research and patients in many areas of medicine, including cancer, neurodegenerative diseases such as Motor Neurone Disease, Parkinson's and Alzheimer's, heart disease, diabetes and stroke.
I am currently on placement at SITraN and for the short while I have been there, I can appreciate the importance and need for this scanner in terms of research progression and in the hopes of getting closer to a cure for many neurodegenerative diseases.
Thank you for supporting The Big Walk 2018 and the Sheffield Scanner Campaign!
