Story

Basically over the Easter holidays we will be hitchhiking across Europe to help raise money for Sheffield rag.  The aim is to reach Budapest within a week on charm and charity alone.

This year Bummit is raising money for several charities aimed at improving both local and international communities. So far we will be supporting three charities based in Sheffield; Fable, Catch-22 and Sheffield Volunteering.  Anti-Slavery International and the sos children's Village Association of Hungary are two of the other charities we will be donating to.  Here is a little about each of the charities...

Fable promotes awareness of epilepsy and supports the Epilepsy Information Drop in Centre in Sheffield which helps the families of those affected by the condition.

Catch-22 offers 15-25 year olds involved in criminal activities counseling and education. It works with families and communities so that young people become more productive and independent and has helped tens of thousands of young people in difficult situations.

Sheffield Volunteering encourages active citizenship by giving students and staff at Sheffield Uni an opportunity to give back to the community. Over 1350 people get involved benefiting 133 local charities which support many different causes such as the environment, the elderly and the homeless.

Anti-slavery International works at a local, national and international level to try and eliminate all forms of slavery around the world. It is involved in many campaigns in countries such as the UK, Niger, Nepal, Brazil, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, the USA and the UAE which pressure governments to take action against slavery and protect human rights in their countries.

SOS Children’s Village Association of Hungary provides a home for children without parental care.  They aim to give children an equal chance and help them when they begin their independent lives later on

All these charities are really worthwhile so please help me reach my target and support them. Any amount you donate will really make a difference so click on the 'donate now' button and change the world.  Thanks guys!
