Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On Sunday, 23 September I took part in the York Memory walk to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society. The walk for me was done in memory of my husband’s grandfather Arthur True who is sadly no longer with us. I met Arthur when he was in the later stages of Alzheimer’s but his character still shone through. He had a great sense of humour and was always a complete gentleman, I was only sad not to have met him sooner. Arthur had a family who cared deeply for him and ensured he got the best care possible, but this is not the case for all people who suffer with dementia and it is why I feel the Alzheimer’s Society are such a valuable charity to support.
The Alzheimer's Society do amazing work to support people with dementia and to provide advice and support to anyone dealing with dementia. They also campaign to help improve the quality of care people receive and to raise awareness to enable those affected by dementia to live their lives as they wish.
Please help me support this charity by making a donation today. I will keep you posted on plans for future walks and next time I'm out walking I'll take some pictures to show you what I've been up to.
