We provide help and hope to everyone living with dementia.
Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
So for my Christmas present I have been entered into the Brathay Windermere Marathon, this is a bit on an ongoing joke and is not the first race I have been entered into against my own will!! What ever happened to perfume and jewellrey?!
This is however my first marathon and although I am quite nervous I'm also rather excited at the prospect! Especially as my brother Adam, and my boyfriend Jordan, will also be running with me.
The charity we are running the race in aid of is one very close to our hearts, the Alzheimer's Society.
On the 20th January 2009 my dad died of Alzheimer's disease aged only 62 so we are doing this run not only to raise funds for the charity, but also in memory of my dad.
Alzheimer's is a truly awful disease for which there is currently no cure. I can't even begin to put into words what it's like seeing this terrible disease progress in someone you love knowing there is nothing you can do to stop it.
To learn more about Alzheimer's there is loads of information on the Alzheimer's website.
Please help us to raise as much money as possible by sponsoring us, every penny makes a difference and could help someone else suffering with Alzheimer's.

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
