From 5^th to 14^th October 2018 we will be embarking on our toughest most epic challenge to date, The Macmillan Nepal Hiking Challenge.

This is a very challenging hike which will take us into the heart of Nepal, hiking for an average of 7 hours per day through difficult and varying terrain from Pokhara – Chyanglung – Ghaleghaon – Tara Top  – Sikles – Parju – Tanting. Sleeping in tents on the trail and dealing with unpredictable weather, blisters and sore legs!

The days on the challenge will be long, facilities will be basic and the conditions tough. All of this takes time, effort, dedication and commitment and is going to push us to our limits

For this challenge we have 2 big obstacles to conquer as well as the hike itself:

1. A MASSIVE £7500 fundraising target (£3750 each), this in itself is an epic challenge! We will be running several events throughout the year leading up to this challenge so please support us if you can! (and if you have any fundraising ideas please let us know)
2. The training – this challenge will require months of training in preparation! Whichmeans we will be finding hills/mountains to climb as often as possible as well as working on our general fitness, this will mean long days in the saddle, hours in the gym and out running as much as we can!

Here is an idea of what your money could pay for:

£7,500 could pay for 37 Macmillan Grants that helps a
person living with cancer heat their home when they really need to.

 £3,500 could keep a typical Macmillan information and support centre stocked with all the information resources it needs to support people affected by cancer for 1 year. These resources would include booklets, guides, directories and leaflets.

 £7,500 could pay for a Macmillan nurse for over 7 weeks, helping people living with cancer and their families receive essential medical, practical and emotional support.
