Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This is the third time I have rewritten the introduction to this page.  When I started both my Dad and my Uncle were in different hospices within Cornwall.  I started the page to support the staff at these wonderful hospices as they are so kind and caring, they go above and beyond to offer support for both patients and families.

Then, on 26 May, a week after being admitted, my Dad lost his fight against melanoma.  My world crumbled.  I thought about pulling out of the race as I couldn't see how I would get through it.

On June 4th, the morning of Dad's funeral, my uncle lost his fight against lung cancer.  We could not believe losing two loved ones in such a short space.

Then came the resolve that if it wasn't for these hospices, their kind staff and facilities for the families, my Dad and my Uncles's last few days with us could have been so much more difficult.

Thankfully they had the care and attention of some wonderful nurses and we had the support and space to cry on them, get some breathing space and stay with them as much as possible.

Please help me raise money for those who made their lives more comfortable at the end.

Thank you for your support.
