Story
Brian W McMillan, 1951 - 2020. A much-loved Husband, Dad, Grandad and friend. A boss, advisor and expert who has influenced so many. You are forever in our hearts.
Our wonderful Dad sadly passed away in the early hours of the 4th June 2020 following a fierce battle with cancer. We kindly ask for anyone who wishes to do so, to please donate to this incredible charity in order to help other families going through a similar situation.
We were able to honour his last wish and took care of him at his home during his final weeks. We could not have done this without the help, support and guidance from Marie Curie, St Barnabas, MacMillan Cancer Support and the NHS. We cannot express our gratitude enough to all the medical teams and nurses that helped us.
We have chosen Marie Curie, due to their Lincolnshire Rapid Response Teams (Nurses) who supported us throughout the nights. We were able to call them, and they would be with us within half an hour to assist us. It was always such a relief to look out of the window and to see that they were there.
Brian's funeral will be held at Lincoln Crematorium with a service in the chapel on the 22nd June 2020 at 2.30pm.
Unfortunately due to the current circumstances, we are sadly limited with the number of who can attend the service. We know that there are so many who wish to do so; we have therefore made arrangements for the service to be live streamed, please contact us or e-mail: info@willwriters.com for access details.
It was at Brian's request for family flowers only and for donations to be made in lieu. Any physical cash donations received, will be divided between St Barnabas and MacMillan Cancer Support.
With all our heartfelt thanks and appreciation,
Emma, Amy, Paula, Peter & family

Dear all,
On behalf of us all as a family; we would like to say a heartfelt thank you for all your thoughts, kind words, messages, cards, flowers and generosity with donations.
We cannot thank you all enough as it has provided us with so much comfort during the darkest time of our lives. The support we have received is something which will stay with us forever and will continue to help us through the coming weeks, months and years.
The amount which has been raised in our Dad’s memory is truly incredible and we know that it will be used towards helping other families just like ours. Knowing this brings us much solace.
To us, our Dad was the most special person. We also know how special he was to many others; he made a lasting impression on everyone that he met. We are so proud, and we will miss him more than we can ever put into words.
Whilst we write to you, we wish to update you that £200 in cash donations were also received and we have made donations to each of St Barnabas Hospice and MacMillan Cancer Support.
Once again, we thank you for your generosity and support.
Amy & Emma
