Story
In January 2013 after bravely battling with blood cancer, my friend Gemma's lovely mum Sandra sadly passed away from non-hodgkins lymphoma.
After being diagnosed in the Summer of 2012, Gemma moved back home from London to Rossendale to care for her mum. Sandra spent many months in Ward 11 (Haemotology Department) of Oldham Royal Hospital, closely surrounded by Gemma and the rest of the family.
Read Gemma's story here:
"When she was first admitted we were told she might not make it, but with the sheer determination of the doctors and the extraordinary care of the nurses she was able to have an amazing time at home over Christmas and we had a lot more months together with her than we thought.
When mum was at her worst, she was unable to leave her bed and the main thing that gave her movement and prevented further pain was her 'lazyboy' style recliner chair. Unfortunately, the hospital only has 1 of these. We would like to fundraise to enable all patients to have the joy and comfort of these chairs."
As Gemma's friends, we want to support her all we can through fundraising for Ward F11. Each chair costs £800+VAT, and with your help and donations we hope we can get as many of these as possible.
No donation is too small, so please help if you can for this really special cause.
Thanks very much,
