Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am dusting off my running shoes this year in memory of a dear friend Nick who sadly passed away last year leaving behind two beautiful young boys, my best friend Sal and a very big hole in many peoples lives. Although he would probably think me insane (and I do question myself sometimes) it is in hope to raise money for a very worthwhile charity called Winston's Wish.
Winston's Wish helps bereaved children and young people rebuild their lives after a family death. They offer practical support and guidance to families, professionals and anyone concerned about a grieving child. They help children and young people to be able to express their grief, remember the important person who died and at the same time be able to face the future with hope.
Each year Winston's Wish helps over 500 children directly through a unique programme of individual and group work. Many more benefit as a result of calls to their helpline and the training they deliver to other professionals. As they become more well known, the demand for their services grows and the need for funding increases. During the present year they will require £1.7 million to cover the cost of delivering their service.
I have already started my training and not being a natural born athlete (no comments please) I am already finding it really bloomin' hard so have no doubts that your money is well and truly justified with plenty of hard work and sweat (and probably the odd muscle strain!) But seriously, every penny will be very much appreciated.
Thanks for taking your time to donate, a very tired and sweaty Ams xxx
