Story

On May 24th we took on the challenge of walking 62miles non stop from London to Brighton. It was estimated to take us 28hours to complete, although due to terrible weather conditions, never ending ankle deep mud, and injuries we'd got along the way we made the difficult decision to pull out after walking nearly 40miles in 17 hours. It was by far the toughest, tiring, and draining challenge we have ever done! We're determined walk the full distance  next year (hopefully a large group of us next time!) and make it all the way to sunny Brighton! Thank you to everyone who's donated and supported us, it has meant so much to us. We're overwhelmed by the amount that has been raised in aid of sarcoma uk.

We did this in loving memory of an incredibly stubborn, and tenacious friend Kim Taylor, who we miss terribly. Early 2012 Kim was diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer called angio sarcoma. She received loving care, and support from her family and friends, but devastatingly we lost her in December 2012. She was just 25 years old.

Our chosen charity is Sarcoma UK. They are the only UK based, non government funded charity committed to raising awareness of this rare form of cancer, providing support, information, and seeking answers through research.

Research to find ways to treat all types sarcomas and raise awareness was extremely important to Kim, this charity in particular was very close to her heart. Sarcomas affect the blood vessels, soft and connective tissue, and bones, they come in all different forms. Although they are rare, they effect 14% of all children's cancer, and are most often terminal.

If we reach our £1,500 target Amy will also be chopping and donating her hair to the Little Princess Trust http://www.littleprincesses.org.uk , a charity that makes, and donates wigs for free to children who have suffered hair loss through cancer treatment.

Donations large and small are welcome, every penny counts....

Once you've donated please share this page! THANK YOU :-D
