Story
As most of you already know my father mark Symonds has been battling cancer for some time.
In September 2015 my dad was diagnosed with bowel cancer, he had a operation to remove the cancer and had to have a colostomy bag, my dad then had treatment up Velindre which consisted of 6 months of chemotherapy and 3 months of radiotherapy. My dad was given his one year all clear in October 2016.
In May 2017 my dad had some more tests done because he was having pains and we was sadly told he had secondary cancer in his pelvis and lung.
Dad bravely went through with another operation in July 2017 to have the cancer from the pelvis removed at Morriston hospital.
After the 12 our operation my dad was quite unwell, he had 5 more operations within a week and subsequently ended up in a induced coma! They brought my dad round from the induced coma only for him to be induced into one twice more! He ended up on dialysis because his kidneys had failed but dad kept fighting.
After a lot of hard work from dad we finally brought him home after 8 weeks only for his kidneys to fail again a few days later, he was admitted to the royal gwent twice more!
My dad is doing really well at the moment although he is still unwell we would like the opportunity to help raise some funds in his name for Velindre cancer hospital as a thank you for their help and to try help with research and treatment for cancer .
As Swansea skydive take the first £230 pound from all monies raised to fund the skydive I will be sponsoring john £230 so all monies raised will go straight to Velindre!
