Story
Hello Everyone!!
As many of you know I lost my father to cancer on Christmas Eve last year and my brother was also diagnosed with Lymphatic Cancer in the same year. Thankfully my brother is on the road to recovery now.
Having seen the work done by Macmillan Nurses I couldn't think of a better cause to run for in the Great North Run. Hopefully, you will never have to see these people at work, but if you have you'll know they are kind, committed and most of all dedicated to preserving the dignity of their patients.
So what better challenge for a helplessly lazy lady like myself than a half marathon!! Thats 13.1 miles, and I assure you that point 1 is very important.
Over the next 7 months I will be hitting the mean streets of Darlo come rain or shine to get myself up to half marathon fitness. So please make all this hard work, sweat, tears and most cruically chaffing worth while by donating whatever you can afford to my page.
So far my training has involved thrice weekly gym sessions starting at 6.45 with my gym buddy Karen Thompson who will be running the Great North Run with me!! So while you are snoozing in warm beds consider me setting my alarm for 5.50am!!!!! Now thats worth a few bob surely!
Time wise I don't have any goals or aspirations, but if I can beat my borther's previous time that will be a sweet treat!!
I will try and post training photos and blogs to keep you all in the loop with my progress.
SPONSOR ME BECAUSE RUNNING IS REALLY HARD!
