Story
Back in 2012, we heard the words 'cancer' and 'terminal', our world shook, then crumbled. Our nan was given just one week to live and managed to fight her way to 9 whole days!
Those 9 days were incredibly hard, she wasn't living- we was just prolonging her death. But being such a big family, we needed that time to say goodbye. But we were no-where near ready when the time actually came on 18th May 2012.
It was ridiculously hard for me and the rest of the family, but the look on my granddad's face, when he realised that he would never again wake up to his beautiful soul-mate, that truly destroyed me!
I am doing this race in memory of my nanna - my rock- so one day, no-one will ever have to say goodbye because of cancer, so no-one has to see the look on their granddad's face that lets you know he's giving up.
