Story
Well I am back doing the Police Unity Tour this year after a 2 year break. Its not happening the way we all imagined and in all honesty I was umming and ahhing about doing it this year as a virtual ride as I struggle cycling long distances on my own. The senseless killing of Sgt Matt Ratana just a few days ago has made my mind up though and reinforced in my mind just how important Care of Police Survivors is, supporting family members of officers killed in the line of duty.
While we won't be getting bands to pass onto the families of fallen officers this year due to covid I will be riding this tour in memory of Detective Garda Colm Horkan, who was murdered on duty in County Roscommon in June 2020.
I'll be honest, I have barely touched my bike since my last Police Unity Tour in 2017 and I am certainly not as fit as I was back then, so doing 100 miles even over 10 days is going to be a challenge. Any support and sponsorship would be amazing, thank you!
We ride for those who died 💙
