Story
Amy and Jamie both decided to run the New Forest Marathon after Amy's pleas for a running partner. Endless persuasive (and expensive) phonecalls to Australia during Spring 2012 eventually led to Jamie to return to England and reluctantly dust off his running shoes. Only a few weeks of training passed before Jamie realised that long distance running wasn't as painful and mind numbing as he first thought.
Selfishly, he even began to speed off and leave Amy behind during long distance training sessions; such was his new found ambition to run at a competitive pace. But for all Jamie's pace there is Amy's commitment. It's only a determined sole that considers waking up at 6 AM and running 6 miles a 'lie in'.
Both runners have been rigously following a 15 week intense training programme in order to be at their peak running capability by Sunday 23rd September. Running up to 5 times a week come rain or shine (and let’s be honest it mostly been rain, rain and more rain this summer) they will finally run the 26.2 mile course in the New Forest, helping out a genuinely great cause: The Leonard Chesire Disability Fund.
Amy has volunteered within a Leonard Chesire Home working with a lady with cerebral palsy. The home’s great efforts have allowed her and the other individuals living in the home to be such happy and bubbly individuals. We hope for the sake of the charitable cause and their bruised and battered limbs you can help them raise their total of £500.
All the best
