Story
Amplifying Voices have been working for more than a decade to see holistic community transformation, across Africa and Asia. I absolutely love their passion for what they do, and in celebration of their 10th anniversary, I am racing with a team of 4 friends in Brighton Sprint Triathlon on 10th September, in support of a current and exciting project in North Kivu, DRC. Carry on reading below for a note from us as a team about the project…and thank you so much for all your support as I (and we) take on this challenge!
“We are fundraising for an amazing project in the troubled province of north Kivu (DRC), where Amplifying Voices UK have recently been on site working with a local team. They have seen the enormous impact this team has had, since AmpV first helped them set up a radio station, ‘Umoja’ (Unity FM) in 2016. Through two wars, an ebola crisis, a refugee crisis and the pandemic, the station has been a vital source of information and spiritual hope to so many. Many more communities, who can’t hear the broadcasts have asked AmpV to help extend the station’s signal. They also need to help develop the local team and provide equipment so that the station can become locally sustainable. The needs are vast and the challenges many, but we are compelled to do what we can to support their work, so they may continue amplifying the voices of their own communities, to be heard, empowered and promoting peace and reconciliation across their whole region.

We’d also love for you to join us in support, if you can - we have a big audacious goal to reach before we race the triathlon in three weeks’ time!!”
