Amy Fisher - Walk with us, Walk for AS! · 1 September 2020

NASS is only charity in the UK dedicated to supporting people with axial spondyloarthritis (AS), a painful, progressive rheumatic disease which mainly affects the spine. An estimated 200,000 people live with AS in the UK. Our 90+ branches across the UK offer regular exercise to anyone with AS.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have Axial Spondoarthritis, a painful form of inflammatory arthritis that primarily affects the spine but also other joints, tendons, the eyes, digestive system and skin.

Raising funds for the National Axial Spondoarthritis Society (NASS) by walking 1 mile for each day of September will help to bring awareness to this autoimmune disease that is so often misdiagnosed or diagnosed once there is permanent damage.

I’m fortunate to receive treatment before spinal fusing and although I am somewhat physically limited, I am able to walk short distances. 1 mile is (hopefully!) an achievable daily goal, so I’d be thrilled if you’d join me on my Walk for AS! September journey.

Scott will likely be walking with me each day/evening as we explore the island’s nature trails and trek the local streets. I’ll be taking photos and keeping you all updated as I reach my £500 goal.

Wish me luck!
