Story
When I first started running, its safe to say I couldn't run the length of myself... I struggled on and off with training but eventually found motivation and some form of ability to run 5Ks, 10Ks and then half marathons (happily losing weight and gaining confidence along the way).
I have always been a glutton for punishment though, and I wanted to set my aim higher. When I had the idea that I should try a full marathon, I received many raised eyebrows. I talked myself in and out of the idea more times than once, but with my shire stubborn streak I entered myself into the Belfast City Marathon, set up a 24 week programme and away I went into training (which has not been good, kind, or easy for me haha)
Its always been a big goal of mine to be physically fit and ready to run a full marathon so I thought it is now or never to achieve this dream!!
I have entered the City Marathon both for my own personal target but thought it would be a great way to raise some money for a brilliant charity along the way. My little sister Amy, is travelling to Africa with Friends of Africa, for 6 weeks to voulenteer. Friends of Africa is a charity which is very close to our hearts and as I have never had the chance to make the trip myself, this is my way of giving back.
If anyone could spare a few pound and show their support I would really appreciate it!
I will get to that finish line (even if its on my hands and knees)
Wish me luck...

As most of you know I have been selected to travel to Zambia in Africa as a Volunteer with the charity Friends of Africa this Summer for 6 weeks I will be involved in helping many people in different projects, including young people through the group Friends of the Street Children in Kitwe, Zambia. My legend of a big sister Alice Doc. is training night and day to run the Belfast Marathon for me this May and I couldn't be more greatful. I know times are tough at the minute, but if as many people as possible could click the link below and donate as little or as much as they want it would mean the world to me. Every single penny goes straight to the projects, I have my own flights paid for and booked! Please support this charity as it is close to my heart and has already made a huge difference to so many lives in not just Zambia, but also Tanzania and South Africa. The motto of our charity is "Small Steps Together" and with your contribution, you will be helping those who truly need it, by taking small steps together with our volunteers and making a huge difference to their lives. If you have any questions do not hesitate to message me
