Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Once again I have signed up to Race to the Stones, a 100km Ultra Marathon trek taking place over 2 days, walking from Chinnor in Oxfordshire to Avebury Stone Circle. I took part last year and said to myself when I had finished that I would not do it again as I suffered from 16 blisters (gruesome photos can be shown) and lost 7 toe nails and all on the hottest weekend of the year.
So now you are wondering why I signed up for 2014, well my thought process came round to why not! I did it last year so I can do it again… My goal for this year is to beat my time of 23 hours, 56 minutes and 32 seconds and with fewer blisters! I am also hoping that it will not be so hot.
Again I have chosen the Hibbs Lupus Trust as my charity as it raises awareness of Lupus, an autoimmune condition, and an old school friend is one of the co-founders of the charity.
I would really appreciate any amount donated, small or large, and when I get to the hard point(s) in my challenge your donations will inspire me to keep going. (Believe me, last year knowing that so many people had donated kept my mental strength and kept me walking).
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Many thanks
Amy
