Story
London marathon 2017, I always say was one of my best days ever, I loved it. When asked if I'd do it again, I always say yes but only the London Marathon......
At the beginning of the 2022 my Uncle was diagnosed with MND. A horrific disease nobody knows much about until it reaches your family.
He travelled and lived in many places ( approx 52 different countries) all around the world , back in the times where you waved goodbye not knowing when would have contact again, just letters here and there! He has lived such an adventurous life which I'm sure now he is so grateful of.
Summer solstice 2021 he was the first person to reach the top of Snowdon just after midnight - climbing alone in the dark!
Fast forward 12 months, and he is chair bound, unable to walk, has lost the use of all of his limbs, drinks out of a straw, cannot turn a page, needs to be fed, anything we do and take for granted on a daily basis, he can no longer do, requiring moreless 24/7 care.
He was a super star runner, running the London Marathon several times , his fastest time being 3hrs10 , incredible! We went to watch him each time and he is the person who inspired me to run many years ago, we would meet at my grandma's and go for a jog every week.
So, I may be a fair few stone heavier than 2017, but I CAN run, I HAVE the use of my limbs. So why not run the marathon again I thought!
I have managed to secure a charity place with LOROS Hospice .
The reason I have chosen this charity is not only is it a wonderful local charity, but my uncle goes there every Tuesday , he meets with other MND patients, it is wonderful for him and he looks forward to this each week as some weeks it's the only time he leaves the house.
So, in order to meet my fundraising target there is going to be another take@that Bootleg Take That night, it was a great success and brilliant night back in 2017 and I'm sure this will be the same.
