Wing Walk for Dream Flight!!

Wing Walk · 17 June 2021
In spring 2019 I went solely as a spectator to cheer on my amazing friend as she was strapped to a Bi Plane and took to the sky!
Now 2 years later it is my turn!
Each October, children from across the UK come together to board Dreamflights plane and take off to Orlando!!
Parents are not allowed! Without Parents this trip becomes so much more than just a holiday; it does something that medicine can’t. The children get the opportunity to discover independence, confidence, and a whole new outlook on life. Often for the first time, they realise that they are not the odd one out. They gain perspective and experience things that they never thought possible.
The children are looked after by an army of volunteers made up of doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and other helpers. This wonderful cause relies solely on donations!
I have been incredibly lucky in my life to have had a clean bill of health. Others are not so lucky. One such person is my wonderful friend Louise. She has been living with kidney failure for more than the decade I have known her. For the last 18 months she has relied on dialysis to get her through which is horrendous at the best of times but add in a pandemic and it isn't worth thinking about! However, not for one second has this stopped her being a wonderful mother or put a dampener on her incredibly positive outlook on life! So, on the 17th of June I will be flying in the highest heights hoping to raise some much needed funds for a worthy charity but I will also be doing it for her because through everything she will be up there with me! This will be her 2nd wing walk and as that somehow makes you a veteran she will also be doing a loop the loop!
Personally, I believe that any charity that makes her want to strap herself to the top of a bi plane for a quick jaunt between dialysis trips is a charity that everyone should support.
